This request is on behalf of Ed & Dee Rodgers and the Rodgers family. Please feel free to share with your prayer groups and friends: For those of you who have not heard, our son, Loren, is about to arrive in Guinea. As an epidemiologist and senior scientist with the CDC, he has been sent into the center of Ebola country to help stop the spread. He will be there for a month. He may be in the bush looking for actual cases, working from a hotel room gathering and analyzing data, or both…or possibly something else. His mission is not clear. In fact, he was very recently told that upon arriving at the hotel, he would have to figure out what to do on his own. He was also told that he would be serving directly under the UN, not the CDC. Obviously, there are many reasons to pray for him as well as Betsy and the kids. I can’t tell you all how proud I am of him and how I look forward to hearing of the mighty things God did while he was there. Obviously, the safest place he can be is in the center of God’s will, so we are praying that He will make His perfect will known to Loren every step of the way. Thanks for praying. Ed & Dee
Our Mom (Gene Pridemore) has been diagnosed with Atrial Fib. We just learned that the greatest fear/threat is Stroke. She is fine now, and medicated, at home. We just ask our church family and friends to remember her in prayer.
Please pray for the Crisman/Dupont family as we overcome trials and tribulations. Thank you.
Continue to lift Bill Anderson and his family up in prayer. Bill has gotten pain relief after his second spine surgery in the last 10 days but now is experiencing heart arrhythmia and is being treated by a cardiologist. Bill remains at MUSC.
My co-workers wife was just diagnosed with cancer. Asking for prayers of healing and comfort for her and the entire family as they deal work with the doctors. Also that they re-connect with God and a good church in their area, that their faith is strengthend through this.
Please pray for Rachel and her family as her brother George just died. Many of the relatives are JWs.
Please pray for victory in marriage. As I sit her on the cusp of seperation and divorce, I think about other families struggling the same way. I think about all the hurt, pain, unforgiveness...the selfishness and anger...the children. The fight is bigger than just my household. I ask that you pray that God shows us his purpose in out shortcomings. I ask that you pray for healing and restoration. I ask that you pray that we become more like Jesus and less like ourselves. Thank you.
Praise, and need more prayer. Our Daughter, Jamie had professed to of received her salvation a couple of years ago along with her boyfriend of 11 years. We will say a love, hate relationship. She has still managed to have 4 children. They split, and every income tax time he shows back up. Long story short our daughter has been taken to the wood shed, and he's in rehab avoiding serving his jail time for assault charges against our daughter. Jaimie has turned to the Lord for guidance and strength. She has been looking for a full time job that pays well for almost a year. She had a well paying job and was asked to come back many times (well established liquor store), and she actually took the road less traveled which this is new to her. This was the beginning point of believing and still trying to handle her life on her own. She has been blessed to have her childhood friends still in her life that have been there for her all these years. Dad and l had to cut her off years ago all that we where doing was enabling her. Now she's homeless again with 4 children, dad's in rehab again praise the Lord, God is good. She has finally trusting in her Lord. I know what it means now Faith without works is a dead faith. I put her in Gods hands and have been thanking him and praying for the strength to let his will be done. It was hard at first knowing what our grandchildren have been going through. Praise she has found a well paying job up here with us 1470 miles away from Beaufort, and we have been able to get her reliable transportation through one of Community Bible members dealership. Pray for her strength in the Lord she has met a Gentleman and normally she would choose a man to help this time she hasn't and he has encouraged her to leave Beaufort too! See he wants Gods will too he comes from a Christian family and he's a Christian. We are praying that its Gods will that she can leave Thursday of this week. The car needs some work on it and she still needs the funds to get here. They cannot hold the job open for long. She's leaving with what fits in the car. Pray for the kids (11 to 10 months) to be on their best behavior. Pray for the 5 year old who has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes that she travels well and can find the right nourishment for the trip. Pray for their dog chubbs who has been a God sent from above to the 5 year old she clings on to him she's not only has diabetes she's also special needs. I pray all this in Jesus Holy precious name, Amen.
My niece, Jessica is being admitted into MUSC. She has preeclampsia. Her blood pressure is very high. If they do not get it down, she will deliver tonight. Otherwise it will be this weekend. She is due in the early part of October. The doctor is very concern about Jessica. They are not that concerned about the baby's health. Please pray that everything will be good for both Jessica and baby Payton.
The services for my dad are as follows:
Monday, August 11th
10:30 - 11:30 am - visitation for family and friends at Anderson Funeral Home.
12:00 - Memorial service with military honors at Beaufort National Cemetery. Pastor Chuck Rice, my parents' pastor at Victory Baptist Church, will have the service. Reception and celebration of my dad's life will follow at the fellowship hall at Victory Baptist Church.
Please continue to pray for our family, especially those who don't know Christ as their savior, that God will capture their hearts, minds and souls such that they will be changed forever more.
